KISA armguard
« on: May 15, 2012, 01:13:00 PM »
Does anybody use the KISA armguard that 3Rivers sells?  I'm thinking of getting one.  Any opinions would be welcome.  Thanks.

Many are pleased with their Kisa.

My experience has not been so enlightening as the armguard comes loose after a handfull of shots. The actual developer of the Kisa proposed utilizing mink oil inside the stalls and the leather draw tie. Searched often- on and off for nearly a year until I was succesful in locating some mink oil. The results were still the same.

Do believe if the leather washer was replaced wih a more secure keeper, then the arm guard would work for me.

As previously noted: there are many who have been quite satisfied.

I have one that's fairly new so I havent had a problem yet but I could see how that could happen. Took just a bit to get used to and somewhat broken in. It's pretty easy to deal with and with just a few tugs on the strings it's secure. I do wear it slightly loose.

I have an older one. My only con is the extra strings when it is pulled tight. I have more than my share of hair on my arms and the strings pull it when I want to tuck those strings in. So I only use it when I wear long sleeves .
The arm guard is made to out last the owner. That is a plus because I like well made accessories . I have had no issues with the leather gasket . Maybe a new one can be bought from the new maker?
