Nebraska Bird
« on: May 15, 2012, 03:46:00 PM »
Just returned from my Nebraska Turkey hunting trip. Had a great time, birds were really working, heard 7 different Gobblers the morning I shot this bird, not 1 hen. Most were on the nest, make a sound sorta like a hen and they come running.  Of course they didn't stand a chance with my talented calling ability.   :biglaugh:    my partners in crime were, Double Bull Dark Horse Blind, Morrison ILF Recurve, Big Jim's 1 1/2" X 300gr. Terminator heads, Zink Hen and Best Turkey Decoy Jake.  Most people go early in the season and I do too, but some of the best hunting is late season.  Thanks for looking.  RW

This is were the Turkey was standing and my set-up. Platt River Bottom, gravel washes along the River.

YES!  congrats!

We now have a photo for  the BigJim big-3 bradhead kills thread...  Looks like it had enough penetration to kill a turkey.  Those are some tough birds in NEbraska.  Well done.

Congrats!

Those are the exact decoy's I'm going to get this winter for next spring, and it looks like it works great! Thanks for sharing!

Nice bird.  Must be your calling ability!  The ones I am chasin around run from my calls   :biglaugh:     Were you east or west of grand island?  I live about an hour north of GI.  Lots of birds around but haven't been able to get them close since early April.
Enjoy the hunt!  - Mitch

Good for you.  My son and I got back a few weeks ago.  I love it out there.  No turkey's were harmed in the making of our memories though.  Nice job!
