Bowhunting "Action" Photos
« on: May 19, 2012, 01:54:00 PM »
Some of my favorite photos are bowhunting "action" shots.  Full draw on an animal, stalking up to the animal, or anything with the hunter and quarry in the same frame.  I'd love to see your "action" shots!

Cool pic Ryan!

I only have one action shot as I usually hunt alone. I guess no one want's to tag along with me.

He was unaware of me till that point, but all I had was a "quartering to" shot.   In this frame, I'm "busted".  I needed him to take one more step, which he did, but bolted immediately after exposing his vitals.  One more second, just one more second...that's what makes bowhunting so exciting!!!       ;)

Tracy, yeah it would be tough to run a self timer for those type of pics. LOL!  With Mulies like those, I'd like to "tag along"!!!    :D

I took this one of Lowebow with him and the quarry in it but the "action" was over. This was a very tense recovery. He had multiple years of trail camera pics of this deer and knew him well. He shot the deer the night before but knew he had hit him very low and simply walked to the house without taking up the trail that night. The next morning this was a snapshot of him just standing and taking it all in before he jumped across the gully in front of him to get to his deer. The deer only went maybe 90 yards and on shot placement inspection, Mike had clipped the heart.

Here is another action shot. I was watching my dad make a stalk on a couple nice muley bucks, none were harmed, but it is very memeroble. In fact this could be put on TJ's "hero shot" thread as well. It takes me back to when my dad would take me with him and would watch him stalk mule deer when I was 7 or so. Definitley one of my hero's
