The only issue I have with going shoeless or the equivilent is stone bruising and if you ever have had some, you know they take a long time to heal.

 Any boot/shoe I use to stalk with still has to offer some protection for my heel bone and ankle bones or I won't use them been there done that.
If you don't have a lot of rock in your area, well, lucky you!
