What do you ILF folks recommend for riser and limb combo selection?

Rick - please post this in Pow Wow for better response than here in the Shooting Form forum.

I noticed I had this in the wrong place and tried to move it, but I don't have the correct security to move it to POW WOW.  Can a moderator please move it?

sorry,
Rick

I have a 17" Zipper standard riser, Dryad Static tip recurve long limbs.....I like it a lot!

I have two Morrisons, a 15" riser and a 17" riser, with carbon/foam limbs. They are great! I also have a set of Morrison foam/glass limbs that are very nice as well.

I've been very happy with my Morrison 17" riser with medium grip, with foam/glass recurve limbs in "Long". Overall 62". I'm sorely tempted to buy a set of his new design carbon/foam recurve limbs, and moving the foam/glass limbs to a 13" riser I have   :)

Morrison 15" metal riser w/ "Short" Max1 limbs. 45# @ 27"

I just put together my first ILF, a 17"Border Black Douglas ultra riser with Border XL HEX 6H BB2 limbs, This makes a 64" bow and 55# at my 31" draw. Ive only just started the tuning process but i like it, a lot, so far.

This is a Warfed TD3 riser and KAP carbon Medium limbs 46# on a 25" riser.
It now has a Dryad Epic 15 riser and I like it better with the Dryad.

A 21 inch Hoyt Excel with a set of Trad Tech Black Max limbs will make an excellent first ILF combo and won't clean out your bank account either.

For the price and workmanship you can't beat a Dryad set-up.

I have a tt recon and a black onyx riser, both of which are 15". Pretty much entry level recurve limbs on both, but they shoot just fine to me. If they had limbs laid up with eight layers of carbon and foam cores, I probably couldn't shoot the difference.

Hoyt Excel riser with Dryad Epic limbs. Smooth and fast. The TT limbs are hard to beat for the price.

It would be a hard task to find anything much better than what Morrison offers. There are some really good production risers and limbs. But if you want something special it would be Morrison.

I just bought the TT Pinnacle with the longbow limbs and my first impression was "Wow, what a bow". The riser is dymond wood, it's heavy and solid, and the bow comes setup. I used 8.7 grain shafts and shot 183 FPS at 28" with a 45# limbs.

I was very impressed with the setup, they must sell like hotcakes because I had to wait 2 weeks for them to come in, and there out of stock again. I think the new shipment comes in next week.
