I just made these up for a hunting trip I have planned for this fall.  I wanted a set to match my new Tall Tines.  I think they are a pretty good match.

What doesn't get used there, will deffinatly get used back here at home, but hopefully I will use all of them on goats, pigs and chickens.

While I was making those, I also made these for the Kids' award arrows at the Great Lakes Longbow Invitation this coming August.  The adults have always gotten award arrows for each of the events, and the kids got medals (Gold, Silver and Bronze).  I think it's time the kids get to enjoy the spoils as well.

Here are the three I brewed up for them, with a "Kid Friendly" twist.

Yes Steve, I know I need to clean the lens.  One day I will learn how take great pictures like you.

I'll get them to you at the GLLI Paul.

Matt, I'm going to get the feathers in the mail this week.  I'm going to do some golf course walking to see how many goose feathers I can get you too.

That's not a dumb question, it's actually a good one.  I used glow in the dark paint.  It was developed for fishing lures, but with the group of friends I have, there are all kinds of awesome ideas that weren't designed for arrow making, but somehow get incorporated into the art.  I was camping at a road race this weekend, and got an awesome idea for the Michigan Longbow Association arrow building contest.  Your going to have to wait till next February to see those though.  If you think you have what it takes to win the arrow building contest, enter your arrows.  There is a 1st-3rd cash payout.  Only 1 (one) rule, you must be a member of the MLA (don't have to be present to win, just mail me your entries) If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to PM or Email me with them.

That's what happens in the Motor City Machete shop.  We have FUN.  A lot of R&D and creativity goes on in there.  Guys know they can come over here with their ideas, and we will figure a way to get them to work.

That's Right, Mike...you had that thread some time back about the glow paint and how you had stuff scattered eerily all around the workshop that glowed at you! LOL...

I'd forgotten about that!...

Wonder if you can "dry brush" that over the barbles of a feather to just "dust" it and have it work?  That would be spooky at a coon shoot, eh?   :jumper:

Of course they are going to be tipped with Eclipse heads.  Blake makes a sweet broadhead, and it is the only head fitting for these shafts.

Thank you for the glow in the dark idea.  I know the kids are going to love it.  The boys are practicing every night because they each want to win one of them.

Don't know about "dry brushing" it, the glowmpaint is a very thin liquid.  To get the tru glowing effect, it needs to have a white undercoat.  Maybe (just thinking) if I used white feathers and painted the length of the feather at the base of the auill, now you might be on to something there Doc.  Thank you for the idea Doc.
