"New" ILF riser
« on: June 05, 2012, 07:11:00 AM »
I just received a new ilf riser from VPA and she is a beaut!
I'm going to have her at Cloverdale and should pick up a second one from Jeff there too.

I will have limbs also so if you swing by to look, you can also shoot.

No pics right now due to time constraints, but deffinatley worth a look if you have time to come by. If I still have them after Cloverdale, I'll be bringing them to Compton too.

Thanks, bigjim

They make the metal ILF risers for Morrison too, don't they?

Can't wait to see it.

I am not making them or having them made for me. Personally, I will stick with what I'm doing and leave the Ilf to others to build.
I just like to  have something to sell from everyone and VPA makes great stuff.

thanks, bigjim

I thought there was a big controversy over these risers, whether or not Bob and VPA had the same idea on how these are being marketed.

Well, I guess there must be. I was unaware of controversy until I posted this.

I did get a little inseight from Jeff when I purchased it. He explained the differences and they sound substantial so I left it at that.

What I know is that VPA makes it and I am a VPA dealor therefore I sell it.

No exotic woods in it...yet, but a darn good looking riser just the same.

There is no controversy. It is not the same riser as a Morrison. It is a 13" riser some of the looks are similar, but it has been re-designed in geometry so it balances better in the hand so it is not so top heavy. There are some other differances also, but I'm not going to list them all here. We are also having limbs made by SKY with 3 different configurations with black glass from 1 lam of maple all the way to foam core. Recurve and longbow to make a 56" to a 60" bow.

"Do you have any pictures?"

We don't have any pictures released yet of the production ones yet, but they should be coming as soon as we get the limbs.

The Riser itself should be under the $400.00 mark with all premium stainless steel hardware without the grip. The grip made in low, medium, and high heel is available for under $50.00 with the duel compound(soft heel and hard sides). Several other ILF grips will fit also. The limbs range from $250.00 to $400.00.

Uhmm, there must be a controversy if Bob Morrison is pulling his operation for metal risers from VPA.
