When its warm I warm either a ball cap of boonie style. If its cold I almost always wear either a beanie or a radar style hat.

Big Jim's short bill for warm weather. Filson rancher's cap or wool watch cap when it is cold. Since I have a stable of hats, these picks can change on short notice. Wish I still had my boonie hat from Uncle Sam, but alas, it is long since gone.

Warm weather, Army surplus camo boonie.

Cold weather, anything I can pull over my big ears, I absolutly hate the cold wind in my ears.

Boonie with a piece of velcro on the bucket/brim to hold it up when I don't want the shade.

I'll second the Stormy Kromer for cool weather.

Last year I was Bass Pro Shop in Sevierville, TN. They had a solid black baseball cap with the mesh back and a short brim. Attached to the front of the cap was a black drop down face cover. Been kicking myself ever since for not buying one to hunt out of a blind.

In summer I go with a military boonie cover. In the winter its the good ole wotch cap or beanie.

Like others on the thread, I have a few to many hats lol :-)
My favorite hat is my fedora with a soft bill. Lately I have been wearing a camo golf hat. Not sure what the real name of 'em is but they wear them in Ireland and Scotland
