I've been shooting trad bows for a quite awhile, but I've never had much experience with a large number of bows.I started when I was about 18 and am 34 now and I lucked into my first good bow being a Wes Wallace Mentor; it fit me perfectly and I shot it for years without much exposure to much else. Now I'm at a point in my life that I'm lucky enough to start to be able to play with different bows more regularly and the first thing I noticed is that some are just much less finicky than others. By that I mean they shoot a wide variety of arrows compared to others.
For example, my 55# moab shoots all these arrows equally well.
gt 35/55 29" w/250 up front.
gt 55/75 28.5" w/350 up front.
AD trad lites 29" w/175-250 up front.
I also have a 50# moab that is more fussy. It shoots the 35/55 arrow good but not the 55/75. It does shoot the AD Trad Lite arrow with 250's, but does worse with the lighter points on it.
I've played with some Bear bows that seem to be pretty fussy with what they like. I've also played with one of John Mauss' bows that ate everything you fed it?
SO......are certain bows just more forgiving than others?????
