What a guy,he calls me up and said "Hey,do you want an archery target?".
I hooked up the trailer and in a short while was in my back yard re-assembling.....

My old uncovered bales were shot so this was perfect timing. These are the excelsior bales, they are on the dry side but I reinforced them with nylon webbing......

Back before there were 3D targets (at least we'd never seen them back in the early 1970s), we set up the Clovis, NM range with all excelsior bales. The club bought them from a coffin company. They served for many years.

You're lucky. I've had 5 brother-in-laws and all they gave me was grief!! LOL
Enjoy Your new target. It looks to have lots of shots left in it.

Craig, Your brother in law asking you if you want an archery target, is like asking a crack addict if he want to get high.... duh!

Wet the bales really well and they will swell up tight.
I recently got some new ones from American Excelsior in Arlington, Tx. These things are great targets.

we used to get them up here but now they are using the material for something else. Carpet bales are not nearly as nice.

Used to have problems with the excelsior sticking to the wooden shafts. Have you tried some cedar yet?

Nothing but carbon has hit these from me yet. Seeing how they are a wood fiber,I do not think cedars should be a problem unles the finish burns fast.
Shick,
Anytime buddy.
Good Shooting,
Craig
