I like the hex heads and shoot them a lot because I gap shoot and they have the same profile as my field point.  But I prefer the 'Small Game Thumpers', which I have gotten from Big Jim's shop.  I just like their 'footprint' and how they don't bury in the ground.  They're offered in a variety of weights as well.

I like Hex heads as well as thumpers, but they still can bury under the grass and leaves and I have lost a few, but I love the Muzzy SG-X points, they have the judo type wire arms to prevent burying under and a trocar tip for penetration and damge and are devestating on rabbits, squirrels, armadillos, birds, etc.   Plus you can change out the trocar tip if they get damaged or even sharpen the tip up for more cutting as well.
They'll be no quitters till we bag us some critters!

I made the ones with t-nuts from the hardware store. You can vary the point weight to get what you need for a finished head. A member here had a video on how he made them and they work  great.

Long time Judo user; but, I've seen bad results on small game. Recently seen the effectiveness of Ace hex heads which I now recommend highly.

Definitely agree w/Brad also. Make your own whatever weight you want! These heads work great!

Hex heads, Hammerheads, Talons, and dubbed Bodkins. I bought some of the VPA heads to try this year also.

Do those thumpers skip on hard ground or bury up at all?

I prefer the Judo point and Tiger Claw...which I believe 3 Rivers now calls the Barta Head. Also tough to beat single blade Bear Razorheads on rabbits and pheasants (mounted on flu flu's).

Ace Hex Heads, hands down. Excellent performance, weights to match your field points, and less than half the cost of many other small game heads.

I like the looks of the Thumper sort,  I like the way they work,  but I have had entirely too many catch an edge on a tree, rock, stump etc and cause the arrow to snap.  This almost never happens to me with hex heads.

Hex heads for me.

I have used the RFA talons and really like them, and the G5 SGH both are wonderful. But for stumping I prefer the judo over all others.  I also like the Judos for rabbit and squirrel size small game. But I defer to the others for bigger small game. And then broadheads for coyotes.

Funny I just got some judos in my recent 3R order and I was telling the wife tonight "I don't know why anyone would use anything but these"  I've used lots of other heads, I like the way the judos dig in and hold onto small game.
