Ray has slayed a lot more than bear and hogs....he's got at least a couple hundred trad bowkills under his belt, though he's much to modest to ever flaunt it. Ray recently won the Traditional Bowhunter's of Georgia Sinew Award: an award given to one member each year that has displayed a life-long commitment to furthering the cause of traditional bowhunting. Ray is one of the founders of Suburban Whitetail Management here in GA, a grassroots organization that provides bowhunters the opportunity to help control deer populations in and around suburban Atlanta...a tremendous feat of P.R. and logistics. I have seen Ray go out of his way time and again to help traditional bowhunters, new and old, in what ever way he possibly can.
I literally could write pages of Ray's trad bowhunting accomplishments and contributions. But more importantly, Ray is the kind of guy you encourage your kids to pay attention to, hoping he'll rub off on them. Proud to be able to learn from him and even prouder to call him friend.
Happy birthday brother...
