Bama Bow Arrow Help
« on: June 28, 2012, 10:20:00 PM »
Hey any of you guys Bama Bow ShooterS?  I got a 62" Royal Expedition on the way 50# @ 28".  My DL is 27". I need some arrow suggestions.  I like Gold Tips, and have plenty of 5595's and 7595's but they may be too stiff.  Any suggestions?  Bama bows aren't on my version of Stu Miller's Dynamic spine calculator.

Hey Tony,

I'd post this in the PowWow for feedback.

I am shooting a 29.5 inch long 3555 Gold Tip Traditional with 100 grain brass insert and 100 grain tip and 3-5 inch feathers with fast flight string. With B-50 string I use a 125 grain tip with same arrow. I have a 58 inch 50@28 Bama Royal Expedition. I used Stu's calculator and under bow type use generic reflex/deflex longbow.

I'm telling you though, check out the AD tradlites.  They'll likely work on every bow you have in that weight range and you can easily adjust tip weight.

Just got the bow in the mail.  It's awesome! Shooting my 32" GT's 5575's with 175g pretty well. So thats a start. Gonna order some 3355 and maybe 1535 trads. I like to shoot a light arrow and can probably shoot the 1535's with 100g tip, according to Stu Miller's calculations.

Those 1535's with a 100gr point are going to put you down around 7GPP, aren't they? I'd say that's AWFULLY light. Any more weight up front is going to leave them quite soft I would think.

Nate cuts his shelf pretty close to center which makes them more spine tolerant. I've got an Expi the exact same specs as yours. I'm shooting CE 3050's with 200 grain points, (480 grain arrow weight).

The 1535 trads with 100g points will be close to 8gpp according to Stu Miller.  Will be fast and light if they work out (If not they will shoot heavy from my 72" Longbow).  I like to have a set of light arrows that shoot fast and furious! If not I've got 3555 and 5575's. I like the GT's for the price. If you are all interested I'll keep everyone posted on the arrow performance from the 50# Bamabow.

I had a Bear Montana the same specs as your Bama bow, my draw is about 27 also.  GT Trad 1535's (.600) spine 29 inches long with 200 grain points bareshafted perfect for me.
