Eberlestock Mini-Me ??
« on: June 30, 2012, 12:04:00 PM »
Anyone here have any experience with this pack?

I've never been much of a backpack type, just never took much stuff with me here in east Texas hunting. (But do take more than a little fanny pack is designed to carry) My little side pouch gave up the ghost, so I started looking for a replacement. I bought an Eberlestock X2 after reading a lot of positive reviews. It came in the other day and its a very nice, well thought out pack, but seems huge to me. It's not big compared to others, but for me...it's got a lot of empty spaces. It would be a great up in the mountains, I suppose.

Anyways, I started looking for something a little smaller...and just about decided to get a Badlands Monster Fanny pack with the shoulder straps, because it rides low and I usually have my stand on my back....then I saw the Eberlestock Mini-Me. Looks to be a good hydration pack with just enough room for the essentials for a days hunt and looks more streamline than the monster fanny would be.

Looking for some opinions from some who owns or tried this pack. Is it small/flat enough to put a stand over it on the back? Do you wish you had more space? Looks like a versital little pack.

Thanks, Mike

Mike,

I use the mini-me for day hikes and to take to the stand.  It's a great hydration pack with enough room for bare essentials if its not opened up.  The pack has a mess bag that comes out the bottom of the pack which gives you more room to store game (birds, squirels...) or to keep wet cloths etc.  There is room where the rifle scabard goes where you can place a few arrows.  I'm trying to work with it to see if I can modify to use it as a quiver where it would work great at a shoot.

I have a couple in stock and am running a sale for the 4th.  Take a look on the sponsor classifieds.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the info George. I like the looks of it. There is a video review of it on the net.

I have one and use it for hunts where I don't need to carry a bunch of gear or clothing.  It is a great and very versitle little pack.  I haven't tried carrying a stand with it on my back, but it does ride very close to your back so I'm thinking that would work fine.

Packs are like womens purses - we need a bunch of them for different occasions!  :D
