I use 29.5"  gt 7595 trads with 320gr up front

these fly great from 55 and 60lb 3/16 past centrecut martin recurves

at 29", 5575s can only handle 220 up front at 55lbs

If you are looking to build an efoc arrow, in my opinion one of the easiest ways to do it is with some of the light weight 9/32" arrows on the market today and load them up with point weight plus you can put multiple brass hit inserts up front for even more foc.

May need to build out strike plate a bit though.

Same dynamic spine as as the 250 with only 300 up front.

Rob
I have not run any numbers but judging from what I shoot off my 50# bow, I would think this would be the place to start.

He only draws 27". I shoot 75-95's full length with 365 grains up front and I am drawing them 68 lbs @32 inches...sounds WAAAY too stiff if you lop them off at 28 inches.

My recommendation for Gold Tips would be the 5575's if you were gonna cut them short. Maybe the Ultralight Entrada's in a 340 or 400 spine.

Then again, carbon arrows are voodoo magic. If they work, they work, if not guys will tell you eight different ideas to try. All of those ideas based on personal experience   :help:

KINETIC ENERGY    HUNTING USAGE
25 ft. lbs.    Small Game
25-41 ft. lbs.    Medium Game (Deer, Antelope)
42-65 ft. lbs.    Large Game (Elk, Black Bear, Boar)
65 ft. lbs.    Big Game (Cape Buffalo, Grizzly)

Easton Tech Support :I personally recommend going with something between 425-500 grains along with an 11-18% FOC.  If you are between those ranges you will have a great arrow for big game.  Just make sure that if you are using a lot of point weight on a 400 spine that you don’t make it too weak for your set up.
I wouldn't worry too much about the kinetic energy values for different types of big game. Most trad bows will not ever see 50 ft. lbs. of KE but many over 65# with heavy arrows have killed cape buffalo and the like. The key is a properly flying arrow, a SCARY SHARP broadhead, and an arrow that is at least 9 gpp for your bow. With that kind of set up just about anyone pulling over 50-55# is ready to go for just about anything on this planet unless you are going for Buffalo (water buff or cape buff) or any of Africa's larger animals in that case think very heavy arrows.

Same here, I've had much better luck using 340's    :dunno:
