Took my youngest to see the movie Brave, now he doesn't believe you can take a large Black Bear with a trad bow. And he is terrified of me going hunting where bears are.

This isn't my bear, but here is a link to a nearly 400 pound bear over on the 2012 highlights forum; Had it been fall, I bet that bear would have been closer to 500 pounds!

First animal I killed with a traditional bow. Bottomed out a 300# scale after he was gutted. 57#@28" Widow MAIII, 2219 xx75 with a Magnus II w/bleeder blade. Double lung and top of heart. 30 yard recovery. Enjoy your hunt! Mike

This is my first bear in 5 trys, taken last month at Bear Quest 6. Taken with a Morrison Cheyenne, Cabelas stalker shafts and woodsman heads.
