Lets See Some PICS of 2 Blade Heads for HOGS...
« on: July 06, 2012, 03:27:00 AM »
Hey all,

I'd like to see some pics of heads that you all would consider great for hogs.  Either 2 blade or 3 would be fine.  I'm just looking for ideas and what others have found to work well for them.
One other thing, I will be shooting no more than 50 pounds of draw weight, if that makes a difference in what you would use.

Thanks for the help.

If you have enough bow then Snuffers are the way to go.

i use the original Silver Flame XL 180 grain out of my 47lb bows.  They are pricey but work well.  The 175grain VPA terminators work well also..

180 grain Silver Flame xls. Good sized hogs 200# plus, broadside, 1 hole kills. One walked 60 yards and one walked 100 yards and was completely drained by the time he went down.

tuffhead,   200 grain grizz,   standard 160 grizz,   stos,   zwicky no mercy,   standard silver flame

These are close up of the tips.  left to right, Tuffhead, modified tip 200 grain grizzly, modified tip standard grizzly, standard tip.  I always change the tip on my grizzly.  Not a needle point but it makes it much sharper and less likely to deflect on a animal that is at a steep angle

I have shot hogs with zwickeys, Ace and Grizzly's.  Of those the Grizzly actually entered and cut a channel through the hot, looked like someone took a paint brush and went down through the woods.  I am no expert, just my experiance.

John at Tusker took this brute while hunting a banana plantation.  He said it weighed 376 pounds. He favors Aztecs for boars, and Concordes for Aussie Buff.
