Thanks for the input Tom!  Me and the boys did some work with the M240B over here... its no M60 but it is a darn fine machinegun.  0331's are among my favorite of all Marines as my first command was a weapons platoon.

Thanks for your service Sir!

Stay safe and get home quick Marine!

You may want to try a 7Lakes bow. Mike Ballenger is in the Pinehurst area ( 7 Lakes actually ). He's a sponsor here on TG and will likely work directly with you and you might even get a visit in for some one-on-one custom work.

 http://www.7lakeslongbow.com/

My son-in-law and my daughter return from Marine life in Dec. They are at Pendleton now. He returned from Afg in April.

There is a trad only shoot at the Sissipawhaw Traditional Archers place in Burlington, just up I-40 from down east. It's Aug 18th, I believe. Mike usually sets up there.

Wishing you well.

Logan, got your pm. Great to hear from you. When you get back to Lejune , I'll intoduce you to Bernie Dunn. He's not far from the base and has a cool 3d range in his back yard. I'm sure he'd love to have you over to shoot some. He's a retired Marine so i'm sure you'd hit it off with him.

I got an old Dan Quillion thats in the 80's it think. you can have it for as long as you need it.

Jet and I were talking about you the last time we went after pigs. Go figure.

I was wondering that too, Killie (but then i said, "Oh, it's Killie." LOL). Otherwise the advice was good, as always, though and the words of thanks rang true, as i have come to expect from you my ol' friend.

Don't pay any attention to her geographical wanderings in mid-conversation, Logan - just take the "good stuff" to the bank. I have your PM and will be answering it soon though , I have little good info for you , I fear.

From this old Marine, thank you for your service also and keep up the good work and attitude/thoughts of/for your troops.

Don, is definitely correct on the practice range in my back yard and I love to have shooting company, any time. I'm not as consistent as I would like to be but I love to shoot. Have a number of targets scattered around and a ladder stand and hang-on stand up for practicing from also.

I was curious about the "area" you would return to, mentioned in your PM. What is there that you would be coming back to, or is that just where you live when at Camp Lejeune?

Logan I got your note - thanks for the update - glad all is well - give me a shout when you get back and we will strategize. Looks like you will have some bows to shoot when you get back - best to borrow one for a few months - I will get with you then about longbow details and background which might help making a decision when you order - we have specific boyers we like for specific bow designs several within longbow peramiters alone - Love your enthuiasm Dude!!!

Bernie,

I will be living in Hampstead next to Topsail Greens when I get home.  I will be living with my best friend, fellow Marine Officer, and trad bowhunter Zach.  Cory always good to hear from you and Matt thanks for the PM we will be in touch.  The support and kinship in this community really makes what we do over here worthwhile.  Thank you to all the trad bowhunters that make coming home that much sweeter!

Best,

Ahhh - that explains it. Do get in touch, and feel welcome. I answered your PM today and gave you the Ph # and location. Only up the road about 20-25 mins from Camp Lejeune, and we already have mutual friends. (May have to fortify a target or two for that 85# bow -  although my big foam ones will "suck it up", LOL)
