3 Rivers Recurve tube and a Morrison Cheyenne ?
« on: July 08, 2012, 07:59:00 PM »
Has anyone ever tried the 3 Rivers recurve tube with a Morrison Cheyenne. I know the bow is a three piece but I would like to have a hard case that I can leave the bow together in. The tube is listed as 6" but the limbs appear to curve more than 6". I currently have the longbow tube and it works great with my Dakota's. The need comes when I'm in Quebec moose hunting. We hunt 3-8 miles from camp and ride four wheelers in then back out at night. Quebec law says bows must be in a hard case when on a four wheeler. I can't see myself taking the bow down in the dark and pouring rain after hunting all day. Or does anyone have any other ideas ?

I don't have a 4 wheeler but I carry my Hill Bows as well as my R/D longbows on my Rokon in bow sock inside a pvc tube attached to my bike.  Works good and I was even able to stop, take my bow out, string it and shoot a grouse up in Quebec last year before the grouse moved too far.

Ya my longbow tube works great for that ! Was hoping to use the Cheyenne but if I cant find a tube for it the longbow will be on the bike ! The grouse are all over and make nice practice.

Just buy a chunk of 8" or 10" schedule 40 pipe, a cap and a cap with a threaded plug, cut to length and glue it up.

What are the dimensions of the Morrison Cheyenne?
The 3 Rivers recurve case/tube dimensions  are 59" X 6". I am using it for my one piece Bruin WoodsMaster 60", with a Asbell recurve wool sock and they fit nicely.

When you measure a 62" recurve unstrung it comes out to about 56". When you measure following the curves of the recurve that's when you would get 62".
