80 year old Marvin Breeden
« on: July 10, 2012, 08:09:00 PM »
Has anyone seen the current TBM with my buddy Marvin Breeden? 80 years old, still shooting his longbow, hunting, and even using a climbing stand! It's a good read.
There are boundless benefits to the perspectives of others.

I was so happy to see a write up on such a wonderful fellow. Finding out that he is a Virginian is icing on the cake!

a man to go whack stumps and share a hunting camp with for sure ...

Was great to see TBM doing such an article and a welcome relief from the 'carbon/efoc/fps' talk we can tend to over induldge in ...

Great stuff !

Very nice article on Marvin. I'm with Ben in that it's nice to read about such a fine gentleman and not so much techno stuff.

Well written and told, Brad.

I enjoyed it, also.  I read it while taking a break at the North American Longbow Safari.  There were laminated and self bows represented there and the article dovetailed nicely.

I met a fellow at the NALS who had one of Marvin's bows and a pope style quiver that Marvin made as mentioned in the article....neat stuff and a good read proving that what is not broken does not need to be fixed

Great story; the wisdom of shooting 55# and not being overbowed, obviously worked in his favor.

Marvin Breeden?  I think I know him????  Going over to his place this weekend and help a couple of young fellows make some self bows, cane arrows, and such.  Should be a good weekend.  If you are home Brad, stop by.

Just finished reading it Brad and enjoyed it. Sounds like quite a guy. I also just finished your book and enjoyed that as well. Perhaps you remeber, my wife picked it up at the ladies luncheon in Portland. She is just starting it now. We are really looking forward to Africa.
