I have never been a speed freak, like my brother. Guess I would rather have a quiet bow than speed.  Love to shoot a heavy arrow, and a bow quiet enough someone next to me don't even know I shot.  This to me gets me the chance when I miss game (I know shocking, lol), to get another chance.

I like to shoot heavy arrows fast... :-)

When I am nailing my form back together I shoot an old 50# bamboo backed r/d homemade bow that has lost some 'oomph', with my 800 gr arrows.  @ the 23 yards I have in my back yard, with this bow, I am 'point on'.  It does well in forcing me to put all the variables together everytime, since any mistake in form can be seen on impact.  :-)  That IS alot of fun, to watch the arrow arch out there and land in the spot.

sure, trajectory doesn't matter much.  slow, heavy, hard-hitting.  i get it.

but hunting on the move, in west texas and colorado?

Well, after having recently broken my Samick Spikeman, which is definitely faster at 50 pounds than my 45 pounds horrible hand shock Ragim Wolf, I found that the arrows that were tuned for the Samick fly really well with the Ragim 45 pouds. No sound. Quiet as one would like. Slower flight but it has definitely stoped by neighbours dogs from barking with the twang from my recurve Samick. Those 500 Gt's flie like a dart..albeit a arched flying dart..lol. But it is still hard to believe how quiet they go!
