Well, just a little bit ago I was shooting my Black Timber 3 Piece T/D recurve.
I drew back and as I released from full draw I heard what sounded like a gun shot and my arrow was cast lightly about 10 feet in front of me.
I looked down at my bow and the string was broken at the bottom loop. I initially thought the string breaking is what caused what happened.
However, further investigation revealed that the yellow nock on my arrow had broken in half at the shot, causing none of the energy to go into the arrow thus casting it only about 10 feet. This caused me to dry fire my bow essentially and the bottom limb tip has seperated in two.
I don't know if it will be repairable or if any of the rest of the bow is damaged somehow. I am fortunate to not lose my eyes or anything. I am going to contact the bowyer and maybe he can just make me another identical limb to replace that one....
