We are planning to go. Was thinking of camping right at Denton. Notice that most say they are staying off the grounds. Wondering why?

Lots of folks camp on site.  We stay off site to get some down time after working the booths all day.

A bunch from NJ will be there, some staying off grounds and some camping, I'll be camping as it's the best way to get all the good things about Denton including the people.

My dad(Vter) and I'll be getting there mid Tuesday and be leaving Sunday morning. Only 8 days away. I think I can wait that long without going completely crazy.   :help:

Catskill Longbow, if you stay on site you need to get there reaaaal early to get a decent camping spot.  I used to go as early as Monday or Tuesday and the last couple of years the good spots we used were already taken by then.  I will not be going this year as I do not have the time to spend all week there just to get a camping spot and don't wish to spend a week in porta johns.  That may be the reason many are staying off grounds.  May go again next year but ETAR became too much hassle for me.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

Ok silly question but I have never been to this event.  Does anyone have any information on it or a website I can get some information?

The real aggravating situation to me about Denton, is the people getting there early and getting the best sites and then leaving saturday morning leaving big holes in the sites but no one able to utilize them as hardly anyone shows up saturday to camp.

We'll be there in the small tent, same place we always are. Right next to Dink's Feather shop and across from Big Jim. Can't wait to see everyone again!
