My 5 year old's first "heart shot" with a recurve
« on: July 20, 2012, 11:08:00 AM »
On a target that is.  This his Lucas.  He shoots with me everyday.  He wanted to shoot his sister's recurve a few days ago (he usually shoots one of the Bear Scout wheelie bows).  He told me for his birthday that he wanted a longbow and I won't be disappointing him at his party this weekend.  So, we went out with her #24 @ 26" Firefox and man did he go to town on our target (yes, I need to work on my spray can art work...LOL).
This was his 3rd shot and the smile says it all.
He screamed, "Oh yeah, heart shot!"
All of my kids are being raised with archery.  They are loving shooting recurves.  Just had to let everyone know what a happy kid looks like!

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

God bless. May all who have children at their care have the resposibility and the strenghth to carry on showing and nurturing what is natural in all of us.
My grandfather was a hunter in Africa. He remembered every single animal he harvested. He is my reference.
