which 125 grain 2 blade? Simmons, Magnus , Silver Flame...

Which 2 blade head would you pick and why?
I am tuning a set of Heritage 150's to shoot a 125 grain head. I am looking most heavily at Magnus or Simmons, but am willing to hear any arguments for all 125 grain 2 blade heads....
I would like to hear some pros or cons before laying out the cash for new broadheads.
Thanks,
Charlie

Look into ACE. They mount easy and straight, are easy to sharpen, are tough, and affordable.

Ace or Eclipse.
The Ace heads are just like Rick said. I like them real well. A very good Broadhead.
The Eclipse are slightly higher, about .50 more/head at Braveheart Archery. They come teflon coated and have a lifetime gaurantee. I really like them as well. Real tough too.
Both come in 125 grain heads but if you are looking for broadheads that weigh 125 with inserts in, the Ace's are your ticket. Eclipse heads only come in 125 and 145 without inserts. Both are great options.
God Bless

In 125 grain, I pick the Magnus. Bought a 3 pack about 8 yrs ago. Lost one, still have the other two. They have been sharpened countless times and they still fly straight, and get the job done. Cant go wrong with a 2 blade Magnus!!!!!

Magnus Stingers, proven by everybody but me:) and lifetime guarantee. Really about the only head I've shot with trad gear, I'm sure the others are fine, but the magnus stingers seem to be top notch!

For the money, you can't beat a Zwickey. Shoot right threw bone and hold a good edge. I also like Ace, their softer steel but fly real well.

If the cost doesn't scare you away, silver flames are my favorite. They are scary sharp out of the package and hold their edge. I've also had good luck with the Magnus stingers which are also hunting sharp out of the package. I've killed animals with both of these heads and they left a good blood trail.

I agree with Rick and the others about Ace heads. They're all I've shot for the past 8 years. Aside from them, Zwickeys would be my next choice, followed very closely by Eclipse.

I have had good luck with Zwickey and Steel Force in that weight. Zwickey is well Zwickey enough said. Steel Force is easy to get crazy sharp, stay that way and don't rust.

what are going to be hunting?
Are you using your Timberhawk Recurve 53lbs @ 29in?
Are you thinking 125 glue on? then adding your own adapter? or a 125 grain head inc adapter?

Haven't stuck anything with 4 blade stingers yet; however, they do fly real well out of sets up I have for three different bows.

I use 135gr Zwickey Eskilite screw-ins. They fly super straight for me. They don't come with a honed edge, but sharpening them is no biggie. I have nine of them and have held up against hitting rocks in my mountainous soil and they sure do dig deep into wood and stay straight. I don't miss much, but when i do i don't worry too much since the zwickeys are affordable and i can fix the edge with a file and diamond stone.

If you are using the 53# bow than I would go with the simmons heads. They are a little tricky to sharpen but they make big holes and with your bow weight you should get two holes every time.

They are pricey, but I have picked them up via the classifieds for quite a bit less. Silver Flames are wicked sharp and leave some nice blood trails. Second on my list would be the Stingers.

I have shot deer with both heads Magnus and Simmon's the Simmon's leave bigger holes and have better blood trails for me. Both are great heads, if I couldn't get Simmon's I would be shooting Magnus. Both are great to deal with.LCH
