I was reluctant to use tape, but after a solid 2 months of abusing arrows I have not seen a single failure.  I do dot the ends of the feathers with the platinum.  I'm stickin with whats working for me.

Feathers will fall off in cold weather with tape , I went to shoot alittle one day in Dec. before hunting and every arrow I shot looked like someone kicked a turkey in the butt .Glue works so good why use tape? Tim

Don't know if it helps..since I haven't had a failure, but I always run my thumbnail down the tape before I peel it and along the quill after removing clamp to make sure the feathers stand up good.

Nope, tape does not hold as well as glue.  I have had good results with superglue gel recently but duco works great!

Glue for me also. I'm not in that much of a hurry to fletch arrows, plus I can fletch 6 in a hour with my multi fletcher and glue. So I can do a dozen in one evening if I want. I know tyhe glue will hold like I want so see no need to change.

I started out using tape with a single jig.
The tape works well...but..It can move a bit if you push on the fletch a bit.

I never had an actual problem with the tape.
But I didn't like that it does have a bit of give.
I just like things to stay "no matter what" if you know what I mean.

I switched to duco for my woodies and easton quick bond for my beman carbons.
..btw..don't try putting a "dot" of the easton or other super glue stuff at the tip of the fletch to make a smooth transition..it seeps up to the feather and makes for a hard spot. Duco works fine on the carbs for that.

I also got a jo jan multi fletch.

I like gluing better now.
It just seems to be more secure and it's one worry gone out of my head.

With the 8-15min cure time depending on the glue I can fletch up a dozen in an hour or two.

I wouldn't glue with only a single jig...would take waaayy too long for my tastes.

I actually get more consistent fletches with glue. The glue will let the feather slip slightly when you lay the jig down if you don't lay it perfectly...By slipping I mean into the right spot.

The tape is un forgiving.
You put that clamp down just slightly off your stuck with a slightly off fletch.

I never had too much trouble dealing with applying the tape to the fletch.
I found a process that worked pretty smoothly for me in fact.

But as you know, there is still the stick it on, trim it, peel off the backing to go through on each one.

I find it easier to just run a bead of glue.

It's jo jan multi fletch and glue for me for here on out.
