To say my daily browse of TradGang has been inspirational is putting it mildly. Every day I learn new things reading posts, following threads, and builds.
You guys have been nothing short of inspirational. When I first joined I was not new to traditional bowhunting, just not as informed. I was a compound shooter that yearned for a better way.
So after making every mistake I could, caught a bad case of bow fever, tried shooting like Howard Hill and everyone else I could read up on, I've come a long long way.
See my passion has always been to hunt as primitive as I can, and it would be a blast to use equipment I made or had a hand on.
Well I've been finishing up a Hill style bow blank from Mike Yancey, basically a bamboo version of a Hill bow.
I've never done something like this before, never been a carpenter or much skilled with wood. Probably destroyed more wood than anything else. But slowly along the way I lost my fears and started making wood arrows and now this bow project. And I could not have done any of it without you guys. The generosity and wealth of information here is God Blessed. I wish more people knew of this site, even if they don't hunt. To see strangers become friends, to see ignorant fools like me actually put a bow together that rocks, is a gift that many outside of us should understand to believe that it is possible.
I would be foolish to neglect the fine bowyers we have here as sponsors. Your skill has taken a greater significance to me. I can now really appreciate your works.
Thanks to all, we may have never spoken but I've read your words and drooled over your pictures, thanks again.
