I have been reading a few posts, watching folks at the local club, and have talked to a couple of bow makers. I notice there definitely is definitely some different ways of thinking about arrows. What I am thinking maybe we can post some basics about our rigs and get a feeling for what setups people generally end up with. Here are mine:
55#@28.5" Sitka, 65-70, 29.5" B.O.P, 495 grain
55#@28.5, CE Maxima 3D select Carbon, 250 size, 29.5" B.O.P, 510 grain

Bjorn that is an interesting set up. Would you say that the reason you can use the 70-75# spine is because you have the 145 grain up front?

70# @ 29"-Bear "B" riser #1 limbs, XX75 2317 29 3/4", green razorhead (with bleeder) 630 grns. Use the same arrow on my secondary bows as well, lightest 65#, heaviest 76#. Works okay, heavy enough and pretty flat out to 35 yds. Grant

Leon Stewart 64" longbow & Howatt Hunter both measured ~67# @ 31". I want 9-12 grains per pound for my arrows.....~600 - 800 grain finished weight depending on the shaft and point.
Cedar, Ash, Maple, Douglas fir spined 75-80, full length (32") just taper and add feathers, nock & point (thinking about footing the shafts for another inch or two of length as I really need 32" nock to BOP).

Rose Oak King Panther, 67# @31", Easton Epic 300s, full length, with 280 grains up front, snuffer 160 with 100 grain adaptor filled with #9 bird shot and glued in, total arrow weight of 670 grains, thinking about adding 3/16" rope to up the weight to about 800 grains, have one that I did that to and it flies great, we will see.

Ray, The tip weight helps a bit..but mainly it is the fact that the bow is higher performance, and the riser is cut past center.
