Wonderful story and great picture, Mike.  I really enjoyed "meeting" Jerry!

Hope he has a great season.

I remember Jerry from back when I was very active in Bowhunters of Wyoming; he was slaying big critters back in the late 70s/early 80s, and it looks like he hasn't slowed down too much. A guy who quietly goes about his business and doesn't toot his own horn much, if any.

The place looks like my hunting buddies/hunting mentors den. Differently styled, but about the same. He may soon leave us, but he was living the hunters dream. He also was married, remarried after the death of his first wife and I need to hunt more with his son and grandkids this fall. Always good times!

Glad to hear of fellows like your friend Jerry.

I wouldn't trade any one of my handful of bow hunter friends (my son being one) for all the bowhunter celebrities on the planet. Some of those celebrities are, I'm sure very fine fellows as well.

I hope your friend is able to interact with the kings of the mountains and prairies for many seasons to come!
