40 years ago, an Army surgeon took some torn up cartilage from my right knee. The passing years with more tears and a lot of arthritic bone spurs created a bone-on-bone situation and pretty much dictated a new knee.
Surgery went well and I've been concentrating my efforts on getting it to flex more and extend more fully. Lot more work than I thought it was going to be.
Yesterday, I walked part of the way around our lake and was feeling really good. Stopped at my bow rack as I came in and decided to string a bow and do some exercise draws. I always use a stringer for my recurves, but usually string my longbows just push-pull, especially the light ones.
Couldn't do it! Ok, get the cup and block stringer out and do it right. Then I tried drawing my light, smooth 62" 44# Lost Creek Judge. How embarrassing! I finally made it to anchor, but barely. Looks like I better make drawing a bow a part of my daily physical therapy.
Man,when you get old it fades so fast and comes back so slowly :(
