Bohning jig
« on: August 01, 2012, 10:37:00 AM »
I am currently using a bohning fletcher.  I have a right helical and when I put them on the arrow it doesn't seem to be that helical to the eye.  I see other peoples arrows and they have super twists to them.  Does anybody else have one of these fletchers and have the same problem.

Matt,

I purchased a Bohning fletcher a few years ago and puchased a Right Helical fletcher. Began to fletch up some arrows with right wing feathers and noticed the feathers weren't going on very easily.

I got out my Bitzenberger which is a Left Wing Helical and found that the jig clamps matched.

Bohning had sent a Left Wing Clamp, but it was marked as a Right Wing on the clamp. I contacted Bohning and they made it Right (no pun intended). If you have someone close that has another fletching jig clamp check the clamp and make sure the clamp is truly a right wing clamp and not just marked Right Wing.

Good luck.
