Lock-N-Load Inserts - Glueless & Reuseable
«

The Lock-N-Load inserts from Clean-Shot Archery may be quite advantageous to utilize when shaft tuning. They are advertised as easily set-up and installed, precision glue less… re-useable inserts.
Has anyone had any experience with them and would you kindly share your experience?

These inserts weigh approximately 19 grains.

For what type shafts are they intended?

I just checked them out by doing a search...Will work on shafts with a .244 or a .246 inside shaft dia. From what I see they cost $12.99 for 6 inserts with the set screw and a allen wrench and they send you a decal also but when I went to the Clean Shot press release the M.S.R.P. was $49.99.. Now $12.99 wasn't bad if you want to fine tune and not keep unglueing a insert for bareshafting but I'll have to pass if a company asks for the M.S.R.P. price...

But what if no one wanted to mess up the graphics on the shafts or didn't want to cover them up with wraps? Wouldn't cutting the nock end make some wraps cover them by cutting that end?

Cabelas has them for $12.99 per 6.
Clean-Shot Spot-On® Lock-n-Load Inserts
The industry’s only self-centering glueless, reusable and indexable arrow inserts. Compatible with any broadhead, they can be easily rotated and locked to align the broadhead blades and vanes to improve arrow flight. Once aligned, simply tighten the self-centering, locking set screw with the included Allen wrench. Insert can be removed from a damaged arrow and installed on a new arrow. Per 6.

Friend,
I'm thinking very seriously on trying a pack cause I have some new 15/35 gold tips and want to bareshaft but don't want to shorten the nock end cause my wraps will be to close to the graphics..I want the graphics on and want a little gap between the wrap and graphics...Now I do have a question and I know these were just introduced to the public this summer and my only question and not shure you would know or have any imfomation but can the set screw be overtightened and damage the carbon shaft by swelling the inside or put to much pressure against the inside wall and split a carbon? I'm not sure but just concerned if say someone can over torque these?

Keefer... I have not personally seen these inserts. But, i would think that it would be difficult to over-tighten and damage the shaft, carbon is such a tough and very resilient material, you would probably tell if you were over exerting on the set screw, IMHO. Either way let us all know if you get them and how they work!

Sounds like they are based on the nock design for GoldTip from years back. You would insert the nock the tighten an allen screw the lock the nock in place.
God Bless,
Nathan

I just cut a piece of plastic sandwich bag, cut a strip about 1/4 inch wide and lay over your shaft, then shove a regular insert in the shaft and plastic.
The plastic holds the insert really well, I have not had one pull out while bareshafting. When you need to cut the shaft or permanently glue the insert in, just screw a point in the insert and yank it out with a pair of pliers.
Works for me and is very frugal :D
