It's on it's way from Over&Under to Gen273 in KY. Should be there today. Looking forward to Charlie's opinion after he puts some arrows through it.

TimberGhost Hybrid TD Review

First, let me say that this bow was a real surprise to me. Because like many of you, part of my Trad addition is the constant desire to shoot every bow made. However, Most of the time the product does not live up to my anticipation. The TimberGhost has definitely surpassed my expectations.

Grip
For me, the grip either makes or breaks a bow. The TimberGhost grip is spot on! It is a comfortable and repeatable grip that produces a great platform for accuracy. I would easily place this grip in my top three favorites, and I have shot a truck load of Trad bows.

Riser
The TimberGhost is a forward handle take down bow, with a Black Widow shaped riser. However, the TimberGhost is much sleeker and slimmer. This riser also has a very small sight window, which I think promotes the bows accuracy because it really puts your vision in perfect alignment above the arrow.

Limbs
The limbs fit the riser flawlessly, and appear to be very well built. These limbs produce a smooth draw and fast bow. I also should note, that this bow is super quiet.

Fit and finish
The fit and finish on this bow is second to none! There is no question that this is a top shelf bow.

Conclusion
The TimberGhost is a bow that begs to be shot. The forward handle design produces a bow that naturally shoots where you look. This is one of the easiest bows to shoot accurately that I have ever had my hands on. Furthermore, the bow has no hand shock, smooth draw, and flat out smokes an arrow. I think that anyone in the market for a Hybrid really owes it to themselves to give the TimberGhost a long hard look! I have already made up my mind that I am going to own one of these bows. If anyone has a specific question, just send me a PM.

Looking forward to my turn. What arrows are you finding that are the most accurate?

I can't wait.  I love forward riser bows and prefer longbows over 'curves.

I got a chance to shoot the Timber Ghost  while Charlie had it, and I was truly impressed. What a comfort bow to shot.  Just like I was telling him, about how the grip was very comfortable, and how impressed I was about the over all feel of the bow. Thanks Ken for giving us a try. You defiantly have a winner here. I look forward to owning one in the near future.   Thanks!!!  God bless.

Kent, what is your suggested brace height?

                  Thanks
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm

I was hoping my review would be a little different as I almost hunted with the bow. The 5575 shaft I had cut for this bow was a bit too stiff for my everyday bow. Even though I felt confident with the Timberghost, I decided not to hunt with her and cut down any more of my shafts. Friday was opening day in Maryland and I had a stand hung for sikas on the edge of a marsh that looked very promising. To make a long story short, the early morning thermals gave me away as I listened to a chirp, bark and splashing water about 50 yards out. I didn’t get to take any scenic pictures of the bow or next to an animal but I did spend enough time with her at home.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the beautiful non-glare finish on the riser. That’s what can’t be shown easily in a picture. The grip has a small throat and is shaped so your hand slides right to where it places the pressure at the web of your thumb. I am used to shooting Fedora bows so this narrow grip took a little time to get used to but I liked the feel of how my hand was positioned. The arrow shelf sits very close to your hand and is crowned and radiused.
The riser was lighter in mass than I thought it would be but it was very steady to hold because of the forward handle. The draw starts out heavy but seems to stay the same all the way back making it feel very smooth. I didn’t have any problems with stacking or finger pinch shooting split finger at my 27-3/4” draw. I describe the shot as crisp yet soft for a longbow if that makes any sense. I thought it shot fast but not crazy fast while being very quiet and shock free. I think the forward handle has something to do with the lack of felt hand shock. It was natural to point and very controllable. If I did my part following thru, the arrow found its way to the 2” circle at 15 yards. I enjoyed shooting it so much that I tired myself out every session.
My opinion is that this bow would be a great bow to hunt with in thick cover or in a treestand. I have already thought of how my bow would be ordered. It would be 52#, 58” long with osage, bocote and antler overlay. I am curious how the new Smoke 1 piece model will look. I will shoot this bow one more round and get her packed up for the trip to Nebraska for Two Arrows. Thank you Kent for the opportunity to shoot this bow.
