RC, thanks for the hunting "tale" and glad the "tail" did not get you!!  I have often thought about hunting down South, but must admit that this is what keeps from doing it!

He actaully was striking as I was backing up. No way to dodge a rattle snake bite. If I had stepped 1 step closer before seeing him he would have got me hopefully below the snake boot. I have stepped inches from them before without a rattle or any movement and have stepped several feet away and they get mega hyper. Best thing to do is wear snakeboots and watch where you put your hands. Also no squating of going to your knees without looking. I have been on pigs before and drop down low and look in front of me a a big red rat snake was there. Could have easily been worse.  Biggie just cause snakes like to bite you doe`nt mean I want to join the snake bite club.RC

Plenty of them in there. My Dad's friend got bit by a big diamondback in old area EOD next to Liberty Airfield(demolition area)back before it was open to public hunting. Dad cut his leg and sucked the blood out and both came through fine...that is my Dad and his friend..the snake didn't make it.

Biggie  "RC, Ya let one snake bite you and before you know it, you get a reputation......    :dunno:    "...  lol

I don't worry much about snakes as there are only two kinds that bother me... bigguns... and little'uns...lol

Glad you escaped without any harm to yoy RC and I'm also glad to not be able to say the same for the "no shoulders"...lol

RC, when you jumped from that boy, how high did you clear? I think I might have set some kind of record if I saw him.

I almost got bit by a copperhead the other night while shooting my bow.  I heard the pop of a strike and looked down to see Mr. Noshoulders.  Bad feeling.  He did not make it out of the yard.

I am glad he caught the tuff part of my work boots.

God Bless,
Nathan

I put a small stone walkway off the front porch last year which was a bad idea. On cool evenings the snakes come out from under the house and lay on it to get warm. If you live in South Ga. bottom land you will have snakes under your house. No mice though.RC

I was stationed at Fort Stewart in the early 70's. Those things were everywhere at night.
