Best R/D Longbow for the money?
« on: August 10, 2012, 04:35:00 AM »
I really want to get a long bow and was wondering what you guys think are great reflex deflex longbows for the money. I am looking for a simple bow that has a smooth draw at 29 inches. Thanks for your opinions!

It all depends on what you want to spend and what length you want your bow. I would start with that criteria first for the R/D Longbow category because they will all be pretty smooth at 29" draw. You will get as many answers that vary akin to asking for an opinion on a reliable car. So, how much do you want to spend and would you be willing to purchased "pre-owned"?

dollar for dollar they would be hard to beat. I sold one a few months ago, only because it was about 5# over my comfort zone.

Love my Bamabow. Smooth drawing. You can pick up a new one under $500. And around $300 used.  I've also shot Omegas a lesser known product from a bowyer in PA. Very inexpensive, basic , hard hitting shooters. I'm having an Omega built now, I can post it up once I get it in a few weeks.

Tradgang Classifieds....  try a few before you take the plunge with a new one.

My test drives took me to Big Jims (he draws 31"s) Thunderchild and Buffalo Bow but it may be different for you.

Good luck and have fun

So many excellent bows out there, but I can only speak for lost creek.  Beautiful bows that shoot straight and smooth!
