Simmons Safari with Bleeders?
« on: August 11, 2012, 06:33:00 PM »
I shoot deltas but im always looking for a better broadhead. I like a heavy nonvented head with a bleeder. Have yall tried these? I see all the damage pics. I know they cut a big hole. It looks like they may be tricky to sharpen, but the delta ain't easy with the bleeder in the way. Thanks!!

I use em without the bleeder and they are awesome.  With a bleeder you might just have the heart fall right out.lol

I've killed a good many with the vented Interceptor (which is nothing but a vented Safari).  I've killed critters both with, and without the bleeders.  They're probably not necessary, but I prefer to shoot the bleeders simply because, in hunting, there's no such thing as overkill.  I'd still be shooting the Interceptors today if Dave didn't make the Tree Shark.

Sharpening's not a problem if you do it like this.    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtNBQoVlz80&list=UUozlzf1CCoULb4bT0lQra8Q&index=1&feature=plcp

Hey 160 thanks iv'e seen that video before. No doubt you get them sharp. Would'nt want to trip and fall on that! I think im gonna order some safari's. These Delta's are hard to sharpen for me around the bleeders. Thanks for the info!!

I've seen some pics with massive damage from the Simmons heads.  Haven't used them yet though.
