Pics of new LB from Wild Horse Creek Bows
« on: August 07, 2007, 01:38:00 PM »
I recently had this longbow made by Mike Dunnaway of Wild Horse Creek Bows and I can't say enough good things about this man and his product. It has a bamboo limb core with bird's eye maple veneer and the riser is pau ferro and zebrawood. I wanted a 56" long bow that pulled 55#@28" and Mike ended up having to make 3 different bows to hit my weight requirement. When he finally got the third one all done, he sent it to me and I couldn't shoot that thing to save my life. I was all over the place!! I adjusted everything I could adjust and finally decided to see if he would send me one of the other two bows of a lighter poundage. Mike agreed and sent me a 50-pounder to try. It was unfinished but done enough to shoot. So I gave that one a try and it worked better for me but I still wasn't 100% sure I was happy. All along the way Mike would offer suggestions and he even offered to give me my money back. I didn't feel right about that so I sent the second bow back, had him finish it, and send it back to me. Long story short - I can shoot it and shoot it pretty well now. Mike is a stand-up guy and I encourage any of you looking for a new bow to give Wild Horse Creek Bows out of Perry, KS a try.

I've had one of Mike's bows at the top of my wish list for several months now.  I've been looking for a used one (RH) about 54"-56" and about 55# for a while.  I've never shot one, or even held one, but heard nothing but good things about Wild Horse Creek Bows.

Mike makes a nice bow.  I have met him a few times, and shot some of his bows.

The bow looks great. I really love the bow rack! Great idea making it look like an animal's rack.

Looks top notch. I really like the riser Flare and the vaneers.<><
