I just received my 60" Shrew scout from Gregg, 47#@29" cocobolo, phenolic, micarta riser, koa over bamboo core limbs, cape buffalo fade outs and limb tips.
When I first talked to Gregg about building me a bow, I told him I wanted something special. Well, Gregg sure hit it out of the ballpark. What a master bowyer.
Residents of Michigan's Upper Peninsula are called "Yoopers" hence the name "Marsh Lake Yooper Shrew".
Marsh Lake is surrounded by 160 acres of prime deer habitat located 15 miles east of Shrew Haven, Iron County in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Owners Dr. Dean and Cathy Hartwig decided to build a camp in 2009. The basic log structure was put up by a contractor. Everything else was done by Dean and Cathy, family members and friends. Especially, Grandpa Bill who was the construction superintendent. Look at the pictures its not a camp, its a lodge.
When Ron and the "Shrew Crew" come up for there annual hunt at Shrew Haven, the "Yooper Shrew Crew" issued them a temporary greencard with all the rights and priviledges of a Yooper. Such as, all you can eat pasties, happy hour at the Village Inn in Alpha, resident prices at the Alpha Grocery Store plus the best of all woodticks, mosqitoes, cold outhouse seats, and lots of snow.
So Ron and Gregg, thanks for designing and building the best bow on the market today. Fifty two years in the sport gives me the right to say this.
