Season opens tomorrow but it is too warm for me, I need a chill in the air to be comfortable.

What the heck did you do to your back, Ken???  I hope it gets better soon.  Very soon!

I just got back from a quick morning hunt in the Klondike Forest.  A quick WET hunt.  I guess it was more of a walk thru the woods.  Will try again tomorrow after work.

Sad to hear that your back is still hurting bad Ken!
What a day yesterday was, what a hunt!

Saw 2 tails early morning, a doe and a fawn, way too dark to shoot. Rain was light but steady.

After the watch, we had a small breakfast and Ken showed me an area where I could see deer behind Mother's house. I marked Mom's house in the GPS and went back there. I set up on the side of an old rocky fence because I heard movement there. After an hour there, a grey shadow caught my eye on the my right. At about 100 yards, this buck was walking to me, feeding and walking slowly. I was in the open but managed to nock an arra. I was still as a rock, my eyes almost closed. In about 15 minutes that seemed hours, he closed to about 50 yards to me, changed direction and went up hill, still feeding not knowing I was there.

No shot, but what a rush! What a day!

Good luck to you all that will be going tomorrow morning, I will be going . Found a nice 17'' 8 pt. buck hit by a car this morning on the way to church with my family. Makes me sick , he would have been real nice to take with a bow.

I know right where that tree is Manny, Spent losts of time up there behind Mom's house last year with my flintlock, when I was up there for 9 days during the ML season. Lots of deer, and good buck sign. Maybe Kenny will get a whack at him if he spends any time back there!!!

Well my friends, I've got Tyler all ready to go!!! We're spending today making last minute preparations, tomorrow morning we will be in the sacred "stone circle". Hopefully, our medicine is good, and the Great One will shine upon us!!! Either way, it's Tyler's 1st Opening Day... and it WILL be a "good day"!!!!!

I had him out shooting today. He shot for about an hour, and almost all of his arrows were right in the "kill zone" from 10-25 yards, and at differant angles. He missed the deer target twice, and 3 "bad hits" (1 gut, 1 neck, 1 leg) All I told him was to take a minute and "regroup"... Then when he was ready, I just told him to pick a spot, and focus... He was right back in there again!!!!!

Good Luck, My Friends and Brothers!!!!! May the Great Spirit Guide Your Arrows.....
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!
