What a beautiful mourning in area 4A, 35 degrees, clear and no wind. I set up where I have been seeing a few deer  this mourning and at 7:35 I was treated with the appearance of a big mule faced doe and her two fawns. The little ones came in like gang busters while mom was more cautious. Just before she made my shooting lane she locked up and picked me off. Snort, foot stomp, and gone.....only to turn around and come back to check me out some more. No shot offered.......23 hours spent, have seen 6 deer, that's twice my annual average and I am pleased. Still a lot of season left!   :)

Got a spike about 4pm yesterday afternoon. It was a mercy killing, my buddy who was hunting with me shot it way back in the rump. It ran towards my stand and a well placed arrow put it down. The hit was a little lower than I would have liked but the grizzly did its job.

Great pics of a great gang, Nathan!  I am sure you all had a great time roaming the forest    :bigsmyl:

We have been getting a lot of rain, which is messing things up.  Oh well, plenty of deer season left.

Awsome job Fred,  I was just taking a couple practice shot and I see deer tracks going right up to the deer target.  I guess I should be sitting on my porch haha.  Trail camera is going to go out on it tonight to see if the little critter comes out again.

3 pt or better here in our area....had a real nice 6 pt eighteen yds from my ambush location...problem was a 4 pt was walking by at 8 yds...Let them both walk.

Just before dark a large, beautiful coyote came trotting by. The Fedora came back easy...settled in ..estimated 30 yds...and sent the Superceeder right over his back. Scared the hell outta him...He bolted for far away places...
