good thing i got my deer when i did.  this morning i managed to break and chop the tip off my ring finger of my right hand.  back on now, less a nail, but i wont be drawing a bow for some time.

prognosis is good, but i have to now see a plastic surgeon and arthro. surgeon to make sure it takes and the nail grows back correctly.

dumb, dumb, dumb. oxycodone don't fix stupid.

Just got done getting my deer hung up, I shot a nice 14 1/2'' 8 pt. tonight. Nice 12 yard shot right through the top of the heart and bottom of the lungs. But the weird thing is that there was no blood trail at all,he ''donkey kicked '' after the shot and I knew it was perfect heard him run for 5 seconds then stop but I couldn't see him, I waited then heard a swoosh of the leaves. I was hoping the sound was him falling down. Took up the trail 15 minutes later and after 50 yards I could see his glowing eye in the flashlight. Shot him with my 54 lb. Sky 15'' TDX ,Beeman shafts, and Zwickey 2 blade Delta. It was probably the best shot out of my 23 deer I have killed with a bow and my worst blood trail. Thank you Lord for chance, and the gift.

Longrifle: I shot a buck right through the heart. He ran about 40 yards and stopped. He just looked back where  he had come from and just dropped. From where the arrow hit him to where he fell there was not one drop of blood that I could find. A bit of research and it turns out that if you hit the heart and it stops beating there is no blood pressure....therefore, no blood trial. Food for  thought.
