Are Titan ILF risers that loud vs DAS?
« on: August 17, 2012, 06:56:00 PM »
Was thinking about getting a 17 inch Titan for hunting but some say it's loud compared to the DAS connection. Others say you may have to modify limbs to fit a DAS. In that case the Titan seems more trouble free as long as it is acceptable for hunting and can be made quiet. On the other hand a more secure, quiet system really appeals to me, as long as I dont have to sand limbs to fit. My head hurts!

I have a ILF Pinnacle. When I first got it, it made a creaking sound when I drew the limb back. I put bees wax in the dovetail and the creaking.I think ILF and DAS are both good systems.

I really like my 19" Pinnacle,  I'm thinking about getting a metal 19" titan.

I don't know about regular ILF set ups but my DAS with Winex limbs has been noticed by some very well known bowhunters because it is so silent...and they were impressed enough to tell me so.

Once you get the bow tuned proper you will find either to be quiet and work well with most limbs.

Our limbs do well on both.

I have a 17in Titan and it silences just the way all my bows do. String leaches. These things really work. Thanks, Roy
Maybe it is time to shoot what I have on the rack

I have a Hoyt Excel set up for hunting and it has the standard ILF connection.   It is about as quiet as any bow I have ever shot.  Nothing special to silence it-I just a set of wooly-whisper string silencers on it. That was biggest concern before buying an ILF-type bow, how noisey would it be.  Very pleased so far.

I have both and like them both. Both can be made real quite, and both have some nice features.

For no other reason then convience I like the Titan and the ILF system.  The machine tolerances are tight and the limbs snap in place snugly.  With ILF you can easily exchange limbs and risers without pressing fixtures in and out.
