Any of you guy or gals wear a shemagh for hunting?  I have liked them since watching Bravo Two Zero as a kid.

I've been known to wear them hunting and I bring one whenever I'm canoeing the Boundary Waters to keep the state birds away from my face/neck while portaging. Shemaghs can serve quite a few uses for the outdoorsman, its like a leatherman made of cotton.

I too love the versatility of a shemagh. But for me they interfer with my shots so I use a tight baclava.

Keep one in my pack. Use it to keep skeeters off my head and neck.  If its real hot, soak it in water and wrap it around my neck. I don't use it much but it don't take up any space and its very light.

I tried something like that for about 30 minutes....took away too much from the hunt....like my hearing.  Don't like anything over my ears less its really cold, then I only cover the top half of my ears.

I use a thermacell to keep skeeters away from all of me.

I use one when it is cold.   And after reading the comment about "getting in the way", I have found that to be just the opposite for my shooting.   When I tie it off on the left side, it clears the right side of my face nicely.  Look up how to tie them on that internet thingy.  There are videos and such.

Best cold weather hat I every used.   Seems odd, considering they are used heavily in warm climates.

And I know there have been some detractors here, that is cool.  But these are so cheap, everyone should try it once.  It is different, I will admit that.

I use the camo colored "buffs" I believe they are called.

They are real tight but are designed to keep you cool. So in early season they double as a face mask and also cover my neck line when I have the top buttons of my shirts undone.

Pretty versatile. They are also tight enough to use as a facemask, but stay below the ears. I too hate my hearin being impaired.

Didn't mean to come across as a detractor...I just don't like having my hearing impaired when hunting.

Just something others might want to consider.

Most often I hear animals on the trail before I see them. Wouldn't dream of impairing my best tools in any way!

Very versatile and inexpensive. I have trouble wearing a proper face mask because of my beard. I stared using one for turkey season after reading Dennis Kamstra suggest their use and now I keep one handy for most all of my outdoor activities.
