Since I live in my deer camp, I've been getting ready all year.

Chili is a fine and traditional deer camp food that I look forward to. But I have to tell you guys that we had a camp visitor last year that cooked a venison roast all day in a dutch oven with a marinade and pulled it and served like Italian beef with onions and peppers in a chewy Italian bread covered with the drippings from the dutch oven. It was amazing, and went oh so well with that cold adult beverage.

Hey NEB, if this keeps up we are going to need to celebrate two hunting camps, one to actually hunt and one for fine cooking. Now I am really looking forward to it. Soon we will need to revive the thread from a while back in which folks posted pictures of their camp.

We are going to the big woods up north tomorrow to scout around for our camp out in October.
My Dad, the camp cook, just took 1st place in both the BBQ ribs and pulled pork categories at a local cook off, so we are looking forward to some award winning bbq lunches.

I started shooting a longbow because I thought it would simplify things and it did... now I simply need to get a whole lot closer to hit anything.
Work'n when I have to, fish'n when I can...
