Bow Stinger Question

I am new to traditional archery and have been using a stringer I got from flea bay Item number: 270839194689 on my recurves.  Can you fella's tell me if I am using the correct stringer? Thanks

When I click on your item number it doesn't do anything. Does your stringer have a brand name... Most do.  Is it a two cup or one cup and a block?  Can you post a picture of it or describe it?

Found it on 3rivers website. Made by Thunderhorn. It is a cup and block style.  The block looks like an arrow head.

That will work fine! That's a good stringer.i personally prefer a two cup style but only because I am more comfortable using that style.

Thanks rastaman! I just wanted to make sure being a newbie and all.  I was just puting my things away from shooting earlier and noticed my 2 year old daughter decided that the string needed several knots tied in it! lol. A few knots in the string shouldn't hurt.

Thats my favorite overall stringer.Mine has knots in to.

for recurves I use the Thunderhorn stringers most of the time, I also have a couple of Black Widow stringers that work for me.

I use a Jack Howard stringer on all of my bows. The cup on top is a little deeper than most and it has a rubber wedge that pushes back the leather to keep your nocks unobstructed. You probably can't find one but if you could make one I feel it is the best design.

i make my own stringers it helps me know that its built with an eye for durability and i know that the section of rope is rated for 100# heavier then my heaviest bow (85#) and i know the knots are tight so i dont worry about the bow coming undone or the stringer breaking( i had a webster stringer break due to too heavy of a bow being strung) also its a heck of a lot cheaper i can make 5-6 for the price of one

Cup and block stringer (mine is a Selway) is usually the way to go.
