I would not say that is a "standard" test... Some bowyers like to know at what point a bow will break but, it takes a different level of IQ to want to be that close to a breaking bow. Buddy of mine was testing the breaking point of a bow on a tillering tree with a rope and pulley, when that bow broke it chipped a nice size piece of concrete...
