Nope, he should be running with a pass through wound leaking profusely from each side.  :bigsmyl:

You do not need to seek approval from anybody but yourself when it comes to these types of decisions.

There are peeps here that will shoot whatever walks past them and think nothing of it.

And there are peeps here that are only interested in something special.

You put the time and effort into preparation, practice and the hunt.  If that 'lope represents your dreams and he's the best your hunting ground can produce...why not?  You can't do any better.  I would be proud to say I did the best I could with what my area had to offer.

On the other hand, if you know there are other opportunities and those other opportunities represent your dreams then you owe it to yourself and the 'lope to put a bit more effort into the hunt for that opportunity.

Might your tag go unfilled?  Yep.  But you won't have killed something that you are not proud to have hunted just so you can say..."I got my buck".  Next week nobody will remember nor care if you "got your buck" or not, except maybe you.

In the end you are the only one who has to live with your decision.

I will volunteer this...and it will likely be met with some grief.  Your peers will pay attention to how you handle yourself in the field.  Opportunities to hunt with peeps that are selective (they generally put tags on big critters) drop to almost zero should it appear you will shoot at anything and everything.

I ask the same question to myself the other day on a decent mule deer. If you question it then it not the right time.

Nice decoy... looks very real. I'd have been eating foam.   :knothead:

I do spot and stalk for antelope. If I had that shot, I would drop the string in a heartbeat. If you aren't sitting on waterholes for goats, a shot like that doesn't come along very often. He's not the biggest goat in the world, but for my style of hunting, he would make me a really happy guy.

Antelope is yummy.  One day I hope to hunt them.  If I do I really hope I am blessed with an opportunity on such a fine animal.

myself  yes! as I'll likely never get to antelope hunting but like many have said it's really a personal choice,. If you feel good about not shooting or shootin.. well that's what really matters.

I would have killed it. I did here on opening day. I shot a average one. I just want my tagged filled so I can concentrate on elk and big mule deer.

Never killed or hunted a pronghorn, so, yes I would have put an arrow through his ribs in a second.

I would have shot it, probably because I will never see one, and I'm not a trophy hunter. I'm a meat hunter.
