Seeking mentor near Portland, Maine
« on: August 27, 2012, 03:20:00 PM »
I am hoping to find an experienced hunter who would enjoy sharing his/her experience and some time with an adult novice this fall.

I live in Portland, Maine and have been practicing archery for approximately one year.

Thank you,

Dan

What an awesome city. I was up there this summer and will spend a whole week there next year. Find us something to shoot arrows at and Ill bring my horde of long bows next summer.

You might google up Maine Traditional Archers and contact someone there.  Great bunch of guys, but unfortunately their last shoot was last weekend.

If I lived in Maine, I'd help you out....you'd probably learn a bunch of bad habits, though  :)

My daughter just started college in Biddeford. She's a dang good shot but not much of a hunter   .

Never been there but heard it's purty.

I might be coming up to a friends house around the 12th of Nov. for a week or so of hunting, I know it's rifle season but I'm sure we can work something out, your about an hour away from him, ( Rumford ) I'd be more than happy to help you out if you can make it up their one day.

Try contacting Craig Warren. He's a sponsor  here and is not that far away. If nothing else he will know someone he can hook you up with. Here's his website

I am in Waldoboro, about an hour to hour and a half north.  I'd be happy to help anyway I can.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
