Where do you guys aim at when shooting deer?

Just wondering what you guys aim at when shooting whitetails center lungs high low etc. just wondering I have shot over a few and hit some high I  thinking I am gonna aim low 1/3 of the heart this year they always drop it seems at the shot

I try for the heart, this way if they drop, I get a double lung.

broadside or slightly quartered away I am a straight line to the opposite shoulder - armpit if I have an extra moment. I do try and wait for the deer to step forward or move the leg closest to me forward and I wait until they lean on it. Deer do not ever jump the string - Robertson Stykbow Longbow is deadly quiet. I have a method of aiming to correct any shooting high from a treestand

depends on shot angle and the level of alertness in the deer. usually lower third is good.

I usually aim for the deer, that is unless my subconscious looks at something else.   This usually ends with a miss.   Lol! I couldn't help myself, please don't take this as a smarty answer.  I am laughing as I post because I was being a smart a**, but laughing at myself because it is the truth.  I just can't keep it together.  I have shot em in the horns.  I have hit trees.  You name it.  I have really been conciously practicing on just aiming this summer.  I believe it has been a productive process.  Good Luck!

Usually lower 1/3 behind the crease about 2 inches. Either get heart or lungs if they drop

I think about the spot on the backside where the arrow will exit.  Helps me keep center of chest from various angles.  I've got a natural tendency (and heavy arrows) to hit slightly low - and that seems to be an advantage.  My goal is to pierce both lungs.  Sometimes the heart gets in the way.

Apart from angles. . . think straight up the leg, elbow, 2-3 inches above that. I impose a 1.5"-2" black dot on the spot I want to hit. Keep focused on that black "button" until the arrow hits.  I practice that way on all targets- always shooting a black button.  Its natural when the deer shows up.

Lower 1/3.  That way if the deer drops I still have a solid hit and usually easy tracking.

I only have hunted Midwestern deer. I aim where I want my arrow to go. Most of the time on a broadside shot I am just up the front leg and slightly off of it. Works well for me.  All deer react to the shot before the arrow gets there. But I think this happens less with larger bodied Midwestern deer. I never knew what string jumping really was until I hunted in Africa!

I pick my spot about 1/3 the way up the deer right in the shoulder crease. If it doesn't move I get a double lung and heart shot. When they duck I still get a solid double lung hit.

Right behind the elbow on a broadside shot.  Back of the ribs half way up on 1/4 away.  Most of the time shots come quickly on deer and I can pick see those spots up well.  Hogs & bears I seem to have more time.

I  try to hit them about right here. I'm like jon, I shoot where I want the arrow. Most of my shots are inside 18yds. Seriously Brian, you know where to shoot a deer. you got a fast rig and you can out shoot 95 percent or more of the the folks on here. good luck and send me a pic. Don

 At the last second your eyes are drawn to horzional line of the deer back AND YOU RELEASE.
