I just got back from the woods. Seen alot of big grays but could'nt get close enough. I ended up getting a chipmunk at about 12 yards. My battery died on the camera. so I'll get a picture up a little later.

I'm not seeing beechnuts yet but the hickory nuts are dropping. At least in my area.

We had a good time in the Klondike Forest!  No squirrels or chipmonks down, but a lot of dead stumps.  I missed a couple chipmonks on a stone wall.  One by about 3 inches and the other, well, by about a mile.

It was very good to meet you, Ron.  And Ron is a very good shot with that great looking Griffin.  I am very much looking forward to doing it again.

This afternoon, my better half said she needed a few acorns for a project with the grandkids.  So, being the generous old man that I am, I grabbed my bow and offered to go over to the Klondike Forest and fetch her some.  Along with a small bag of acorns, I got a nice sized grey squirrel with my Shrew CH!  Pics tomorrow when I get to work!

Ron, I got it by that stone wall we found on Sunday.

Great shooting! You've got me beat. I can't seam to get a good shot on a grey. I seen a black squirrel yesterday. I tried stalking up on him with no success.  Good luck hunting everyone.

Thanks Ron.  I might sneak out again tomorrow after work.  Man, a black squirrel.  That would be a nice one to get!
